About the Author

Born in Belize, Central America, Jason S. Price has many interests, including learning, literature, writing, history, traveling, spending time with family and friends, nature, social justice, poetry, public health, and community sustainability.
From his early days at St. John Primary School and The Anglican Cathedral College, Jason’s days were shaped by kindness, love, support, faith, and family. His early days were carefree and filled with dreams woven between coconut branches.
Jason holds degrees in English Literature and History from The City University of New York’s Baccalaureate Program (CUNY BA), Masters in English from The City College, CUNY, and Master of Public Health (MPH) from The University at Albany, School of Public Health, SUNY.
Jason’s passion for poetry and telling stories has resulted in several chapbooks of poems, a collection of short stories, and a novel. He enjoys reading poems with a cup of tea under the soft, shifting glow of a Caribbean sunset.
In his role as public speaker and advocate for vulnerable populations, Jason has shared his experience and expertise across diverse forums, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), National Institutes for Health (NIH), New York City Department of Health (NYCDOH), academic institutions, and community- and faith-based organizations. His message is framed by cultural humility, the need to aspire to universal healthcare, and to provide access to quality health care and education for all.
Through his community health work, Jason established a health hub at St. Philip’s Church in Harlem, NY, and currently manages a asylum seeker shelter in Sunset Park, NY.
Jason utilizes his writing – poetry and fiction – to promote his passions and interests. His works of art come from a place of promoting acceptance, providing spaces for healing, and offering gratitude and love through acts of stillness, active listening, compassioning, and nature as refuge.
